At approximately the same time that Brin was reassuring Istharé about being one of her bridal attendants, Elora and Ynarra were talking over the Lyllaen wedding. The younger sister was very careful not to let on that it bothered her that Ooneil's kin had, at least initially, shunned her. Ynarra, not being an idiot, knew anyway.
So when Elora attempted to excuse herself from Brin's Handfasting, Ynarra had her arguments ready. It seemed very likely that the Lyllaens hadn't properly understood that she'd been released after a trial by the Old Ways. After all, everything had happened so quickly. Therefore, they'd simply plan Brin and Hawkeye's marriage far enough in the future that word would have circulated about Elora's absolution. Besides, she was family. And that was that.
Gratefully, Elora allowed herself to be persuaded by her elder sister. Perhaps they had misjudged her.
