As the eldest member of the ruling Candeliana triumvirate, Ynarra persuading the other two Mistresses Supreme to permit Elora's trial by the Old Ways wasn't terribly difficult. And, truth to be told, the Traitor wasn't a Light Sister, so they were very slightly less concerned about her outcome, as long as some form of justice was served.
The Mistress Supreme of the Union of Vengeance was more skeptical, but, here, Elora Sylvana-Tílyach had an unexpected advocate. Istharé had returned from the Twilight Realm equivalent of the Middle East, and wished to speak on behalf of her aunt's murderer.
"I would like to think," she said in front of the assembled High Mistresses, "that a Dark Sister does not necessarily equal an evil Witch. We may not be... soft, we may not be... kind, and in general, we are... less than selflessly motivated. We are what we are, what we have chosen to be."
