Marea surveyed the tower in front of her and regretted the wording of her last text. Perhaps "Piece of cake," had been tempting fate a little. The tower was small and squat, but in good repair, and the field of red and yellow flowers surrounding it on three sides was stunningly beautiful even in the moonlight. It was the river that posed the problem, really, because the path of the Yelaadim led through the front gate of the tower, and then failed to lead out again. That was only possible if they'd left by boat, and the water looked quite navigable. To trace them any further, the young Witch would need something that the Yelaadim had touched, which meant going into the tower and searching. Unfortunately, this appeared to be the second major outpost of Yelaadim, at least on this route. She and her Fae friends estimated that the tower housed about eight of them.
