"Hide all you want, it's not going to make any of them stop talking about you." Artemis turned to look as Bylander came up behind her and grit her teeth. "Nobody out there even knows who I am. No one is talking about me." She turned back to look out at the crowd of courtiers and noble men and women. The prospect of attending this ball was far more frightening to her than standing on the battle lines. "No one will notice if I don't attend." Bylander huffed and stepped beside her, pulling back the curtain concealing them from the revelers. "My dear, they already do. You might as well go and mingle." Artemis grimaced. "I was never very good at mingling." A light chuckle answered her.
"Well, now is as good a time as any to work on that. Now come." With a quick flourish, Bylander tucked Artemis' arm under his and tugged her out into the ballroom.
