|Firebirds are the most widely sought after exotic pets, although only one has ever been kept as one. They're similar in looks to cockatiels, but with long, bird-of-paradise-type tails. They vary in color from light yellow to darker scarlet, and sparks will occasionally shoot from the edges of its feathers. Its crest always appears as though on fire, and its coat always glows. Its blushlike cheek markings are usually a darker shade of red or orange than its coat. They are as large as your average barn owl.
Firebirds are wildly temperamental, and can be aggressive towards humans. (Although they will normally ignore them.) They are highly territorial, and only allow their mates or offspring onto their turf. They mate for life.
