|You know, I'm not sure that tiny shield would be much use in battle... Or the gown, for that matter.
So this week we got rook, the castle-like (in modern sets) piece representing a siege tower/chariot. The bodice of her dress represents the modern rook, where as her hair and shield showcase the older form. Additionally, her skirt and overall design are inspired by the rooks of the Lewis chessmen (which may have been white v. red, hence dress color), many of which were "berserkers" and had lozenge/chainmail designs. Oh, and those flowers in the BG? Henbane, one of the possible sources of real berserkers' legendary battle-rage.And speaking of the BG, I went with a grass/stone instead of the typical b&w chess look. I started it as black and white, but it was just giving me too many A Criminal Mind vibes. Also it was really hard. Ya, so I changed it to grass.Someone is 100% getting eliminated this round, so PLEASE vote with crowns!
