Chapter 1 - Another normal day?
The sun, the birds and the sound of the farm animals. The perfect alarm clock. Margret's eyes opened, as they did every morning at the same time, in the same way. She lazily pushed her covers off and slowly stood. Her purple pajama pants unrolled to the floor, her t-shirt untwisted. She trudged over to her hirror and desk. She kept all of her beauty supplies there, for lack of a better space. She grabbed her brush and combed through her long black hair. For a while, Margret was transfixed with her unatrually dark eyes. They were almost black, a huge difference against her plae skin. She snapped out of it then quickly bradied her hair and tied it black. She heard the rooster crow. Working in a farm was tough, but she had gotten used to it. Margret strolled over to her small closet and pulled out her work clothes. White shirt, capri blue jeans and brown lace up boots. She pulled off her pajamas and threw on the same thing she wore almost everyday. "Maggie! Breakfast!" she heard her uncle call. She walked out of her room to go see what was for breakfast.
"Good morning, Uncle" cooed Margret.
She smiled and sat down. It looked like breakfast was simply pancakes today.
"Mornin' Maggie!" Uncle Joe said with his usual southern twang.
Uncle Joe was, to say the least, nuts. He had lost his mind around when Maggie had turned twelve. He couldn't handle raising a kid by himself. He didn't know where his sister had disappeared to. Before she had left, she had said something about a "different land" and "someday Margret would be ready." Joe had no idea what that meant. He just knew that now he had to take care of Maggie. When he lost his mind, Maggie began to take care of herself and do most of the farm work.
"What's my job today?" Margret asked.
She knew she had to ask, or she wouldn't be told.
"Sheeps" is all her uncle said.
She knew what he meant. Today her job was to sheer the sheep. She stood and walked out to the barn, the door creaking behind her. She grabbed the sheers from the place they always hung. She almost skipped out to the filed where the sheep was grazing.
"Ready, Buddy?" she asked.
The some of the other animals trotted over to her. They nuzzled her hands and licked her boots. She had named them all and practically raised some.
"Hello." She greeted them and laughed. "Have you missed me since yesterday?"
Buddy trotted over to her, not scared or worried. She kneeled on the ground and turned on the sheer. Something wasn't right. She looked up and saw a white dove flying down.
A second before the dove touched the ground it tranformed. Standing there suddenly was a beautiful woman. Margret looked up, her eyes wide. The woman was dressed in a flowing white gown, with long black hair tucked back behind her ears.
"Hello, Margret" That woman almost sang, her voice like honey. "I'm Queen Tressa and I'm your mother."
