Castlecore is a medieval fantasy dress up game with beautiful flat-style artwork by Tia Christine, where modern fashion meets historical costume, with a generous helping of fantasy nonsense. It originally started as a fashion game inspired by the medievalcore, castlecore and princesscore trends, which bring elements of medieval clothing into contemporary wardrobes. Think corsets over dresses, dramatic sleeves, romantic silhouettes and jewelry that suggests you might own a small kingdom. Then Chappell Roan started turning up in spectacular medieval-inspired outfits, and I was SO inspired! The game now includes looks inspired by her iconic suit of armor from the VMAs, her gorgeous historical gown and antique coat. And since Tia had already drawn a sword, it seemed only reasonable to add an entire collection of mix-and-match armor pieces, with customizable metallic colors. You can now create a medieval knight, armored princess, fantasy warrior or courtly lady who could absolutely ruin someone's political ambitions. The wardrobe includes beautiful tops, skirts, pants, undershirts, corsets, tights, shoes, belts and elaborate accessories. Layer your clothing to create everything from casual medieval-inspired streetwear to full fantasy royalcore outfits. Add beads, feathers, drag-and-drop flowers and a chatelaine with dangling accessories for that slightly overdecorated medieval look. There are plenty of hairstyles and facial customization options, along with fantasy details like horns and dramatic, villainous hennin headpieces. Give your character a sword, lute, drop spindle or wooden spoon, depending on whether she's off to battle, perform a ballad, spin some wool or make soup. Arguably, all four are equally important medieval skills. You can also add animal companions, including cats, hounds, chickens and a horsie, uwu. Choose from atmospheric castle interiors, medieval stone passageways, picturesque countryside scenes, more modern rooms and graphic backgrounds. Whether you're making a Renaissance Faire outfit, a witchy princess, a wandering bard, a D&D-inspired character or an original fantasy OC, there's plenty of room for storytelling. If you love Picrew-style character creators, historical fashion games, fantasy doll makers or designing elaborate OCs for your next campaign or profile picture, Castlecore gives you a lovely little wardrobe full of possibilities. Personally, I recommend giving everyone a sword. Even the ones who are just going to make soup ;)
