Vietnamese Áo Dài dress up Áo Dài Meiker

Game by: meiker dress up revolution

This meiker has a very special place in the hearts of both myself and Setsuna22, the artist, as my sister in law and her husband are both Vietnamese. There is so much media focus, and therefore dress up games, about the more popularized Asian countries, such as Japan and China. But of course, Asia does not end at those two! So we are very proud to present, finally, a doll maker that celebrates the beautiful, rich culture of Vietnam! Áo Dài translates loosely to "long shirt". Did you know it can be worn by both genders? Unlike some of the more historical folk costumes, the ao dai is a bit more recent, having origins in the 1700s, and being re-imagined into a more familiar form in the 20s and 30s. It comes in bright colors and patterns. It is a stable for Vietnamese weddings and special occasions such as Tết (Vietnamese new year). We hope you enjoy creating your own beautiful ao dai garment.
